-:- yarn along - a scarf and her fearful symmetry

Today I'm joining Ginny at Small Things for her weekly Yarn Along (again!)

-:-

Before Mr. and I moved West, we stopped here to get a few "see you later, New York" skeins of yarn. Because, as my dad said, you never really say good bye to New York.

I made these with the yarn I picked out and Mr. has requested that I make a scarf with his. He chose three skeins of Shelter, all different colors, and I've just been doing my own thing with it. Shelter is a really rustic yarn, made completely in the US of A - and I love it.

I always verge on dying of boredom whenever I am knitting a scarf, so I've been working on this one for awhile, picking it up every now and again to knit a few more rows. However, I'm pretty motivated to get it done now, both with the threat of winter looming and because I'd like to see it disappear from my project pile and reappear on Mr.'s neck where it belongs.

Book-wise, I'm still reading Her Fearful Symmetry and I still like it.
To me, good characters are critical to a good book. I can put up with a lot of bad writing in a lot of ways as long as the characters are interesting and well-developed. Bad plot? No problem as long as I get to hang out with some cool people characters as I'm wading through pages.

This book has some pretty diverse characters and I love that. I feel like I know each one of them. My favorite chapters have been the ones written from the ghost character's perspective - it's really neat to read about what it's (potentially) like to be a ghost.

And this, just so you know, is what I see when I come up for air during these photo shoots. My little puppy cat.

    1. They are perfect fall colors, aren't they? Mr. picked them out in summer, so we didn't even make that fall connection!

    1. Me too!! :) Yah, there definitely is a lot of depth there. I'm happy you could see that through those photos! The third color is a bit of a pea-green - it also has a lot of depth.

    1. They always do! I don't know what it is about a scarf that makes it that way. I have more fun knitting cowls, even! :)
