-:- weekend scenes

This was such a strange weekend weather-wise - yesterday it got to be almost 70 degrees and today it's in the 30s and snowing. So we're sitting in our living room right now, with the fire on - Mr. is doing some lesson planning and I am about to go reheat some soup and toast some bread for our dinner.

This weekend we found a great bubble tea place (I got lavender coconut - so good), baked some muffins, went for walks, and enjoyed both the warm day and the cold one.

The muffins, by the way, are really tasty, but also really moist. Moist enough that you have to eat them with a fork instead of like a normal muffin. I'm not sure what went wrong - this always seems to happen whenever I bake with apples...but I also could have measured something incorrectly, especially since I was seeing double after having crashed my head into the corner of a cabinet door!

Also, Lou (finally) learned how to rollover - something he has been adverse to learning since he graduated from puppy class. Which is strange, considering he spends most of his day like this:

He still seems a bit reluctant every time we ask him to rollover, like it's absolutely the most embarrassing thing he could ever do, but it is definitely progress.

I hope you and yours are safe, warm, and happy on this Sunday evening!

  2. I saw that tea place at the mall of America, and was so intrigued. Unfortunately, we were just there meeting an out of town family member for coffee, so I passed, but now I'm regretting it. Lavender coconut? That sounds amazing!

  3. I think we are getting your weather now. Yesterday was 17'C and sunny...today is rainy and much cooler and tomorrow is supposed to be 2'C. Well...that's just plain crazy. LOVE that picture of Lou with the stick in his mouth. Oh...and our kitties look so much alike. Isaac was looking at Lou (LOVES him) and then I scrolled down and he said, "It's Little Mama" -which is a kitty we rescued along with her 3 kittens in June. The kitties all found homes and we've opted to keep Mama. She and our indoor cat, Simon, are finally adjusting. YAY! Hope you have a beautiful start to your week. xo

    1. Yah, today we got a bunch of snow - crazy indeed! Little Mama sounds so sweet - I bet she's a lot nicer than our Wilbur. He looks cute, but has a bit of a reputation around here! And I'm so glad she and Simon are getting used to each other - that is a big deal! It's always a bit traumatic when a new fur ball is introduced into the family - Claude and Louie are still uneasy! xox

  4. It's hard to give advice on baking without knowing exactly what you did, but it sounds like you either used too much fat (i.e. did not cut down on fat enough to accomodate apple and pumpkin additions) or didn't bake for long enough. I wouldn't mind eating muffins with a fork though as long as they're tasty.
