-:- keep on keeping on

This weekend, after realizing that our plans were being kiboshed by the weather, I felt a little restless knitting-wise. I've been working on my cardigan all month and I love it, truly. But I wanted a small, simple, routine project to occupy my grey afternoon - one that would be finished relatively quickly.

So I did a little hunting on ravelry for some inspiration - and decided to make a jar cozy with some yarn that Mr. got me years ago, when I was first discovering knitting. Actually, the fact that Mr. bought me yarn says something about how fledgling my hobby was - neither one of us knew what a stash was at that point.

I cast on before the chores were done, paused every once in awhile to accomplish something around the house (and maybe to take a nap), and a few hours later, my drinking jar had become decidedly more snuggly. And I was ready to start working on my cardigan again. There's nothing like a little finished project to inspire you to keep on keeping on.

  5. So true! I'm in the middle of making a big blanket for our friends who were married this past fall but I keep taking breaks to make smaller things (hats, toys, cowls, etc.) so that I don't get completely burnt out on working without finishing. Love the jar cozy!

  7. I love this little project. Sometimes you just need something quick to work on to see immediate results before diving back into the big ones.

  8. I always have multiple projects on the go because I get so restless with just one. Especially when I'm knitting cardigans and vests in DK yarn. YAWN! LOL. The cozy is lovely. I'm working on a cardigan for me in almost that same colour of tweed. LOVE. xo

  9. I've been looking for a mason jar cozy. This is great. Do you find it gets dirty from your drink at all?

    1. Not really! I poured water from a pitcher too quickly once, so it got a bit wet from that, but it sits far enough down that I don't have any mishaps when I'm not being clumsy - haha! You could absolutely shorten it if you needed to, as well!
