-:- yarn along - non-fiction and my acer cardigan

I'm not usually much of a non-fiction reader, which seems strange for someone who loves non-fiction books as much as I do. I use that genre more for inspiration than anything else, and tend to read just the bits that are most interesting/useful to me.

This week, though, I have found myself reading every page of a book about vegan nutrition - and even if you're not vegan (I'm not strictly vegan myself), you may find it's worth a read just to learn more about nutrition in general. I've learned so much from it.

I've also been paging through various gardening books - I'm already getting excited about gardening this year, but I'm trying to rein that in a little...at least until March.

My cardigan is coming along, although not as quickly as I thought it might. Mr. and I are going to have dinner at a friend's house on Saturday (!!) and I decided I would finish it in time to wear to that dinner. But...I'm not sure that will actually happen. We'll see.

  1. I request a post about how the winter is treating you. The wind chill here is -7 this morning, and it feels like torture.

Love your knits and book recs, as always. (But not as much as I love you!)

  6. I love to set goals like that and most of the time I do make the goal (sometimes not) I hope you finish you lovely cardigan for your dinner date!! I dabbled in vegan many years ago. I love the fresh clean foods that come from it. I think that is a book I would love to flip through, thanks!!

    1. Me too - although I tend to take them too seriously sometimes! :) Yah, I am *mostly* vegan. It's a day to day thing for me, mostly revolving around social stuff/going out to eat. I love it too - it's a good fit for me!

  9. Best of luck on finishing your cardigan, it's looking beautiful.
Can't wait to start on my garden also although it's covered with about 2m of snow and will probably stay that way for quite some time still.

  10. I've actually been leaning back in the vegetarian direction lately. I'm not sure I could ever go vegan, though. I love eggs too much!. I can't wait to hear more about your garden. I'm thinking about it now, too, and was going to blog about it soon. I'm wondering if it's too late to start a lasagna garden now for the Spring since I'm doing the raised beds for next year. What do you think?
