-:- yarn along

Today I'm joining Ginny at Small Things for her weekly Yarn Along (again!)

Well, I finished The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe on Sunday - on the couch, under a blanket, with my dog napping next to me. It was a glorious Sunday afternoon.

My Sunday morning, on the other hand, was not so glorious. I woke up before Mr. (!!) and decided to start working on his hat with my morning coffee. I was ready for the crown decreases - all nine inches of the hat were finished.

Reading the pattern carefully, I began. And messed up. And decided to frog a few rows. And couldn't recover. Now all that's left is a big pile of yarn.

So not cool.

I decided to take a break from that project, find some tips and tricks for those brioche decreases, and work on a smaller project in the meantime. Like this one. I'm pretty excited about it and it looks like a relatively quick knit, which means I'll be working on Hat Attempt #2 in a couple of days.

Still in time for winter.

And speaking of winter, I started reading The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey. I'm only a few chapters in, but it's lovely so far. A blurb I read said it was a mix between Willa Cather and Gabriel Garcia Marquez - and it's so true. More to come on it next week, I'm sure.

P.S. If anyone knows some good tips on getting those decreases right, I would love to hear them! I'm determined to be successful this time around!

    1. Yah, for me it definitely was! I knit most of the hat on dpns and had no trouble with the cast on or with the knitting itself. But man - those decreases were killer!

I can definitely recommend it - I have a hard time putting it down! And the cover is definitely wonderful. :)
