-:- a map-inspired living room update

Ever since we moved into our house, Mr. has wanted a big map to hang in our living room. And after a lot of time exploring our options, we finally found a vintage classroom map on eBay that was exactly what Mr. had pictured. Our house is a perfect size for our family, but it is by no means large, so we have to be careful about how much we try to squeeze into our spaces. Since this map is so big, it was the perfect impetus to declutter and simplify our main living space and now it feels just right.

Our to-do list from our original post is nearly done - we installed a programmable thermostat, revamped an old dresser to become an entryway catch-all, hung some curtains, and hung some pictures. We also replaced our old, leaky fireplace with a new gas insert.

The only thing left on our original to-do list is to install a light fixture. I'd also like to paint the bricks around the fireplace - probably some bright pop of color. I love looking back to see how far this room has come since we moved in - this little house of ours is something special.

  3. I would love a map too. I envision little color coded push pins to mark where we've been as a family.
